Sashiko Quilt Project
This project documents the creation of a sashiko quilt over the course of 365 days. The quilt is formed from 11cm x 11cm squares, organised into design families and named in both English and Japanese.

Days 1 - 6
Weaves and Crosses
These six patterns share a common base of yokogushi (horizontal rows). The addition of the weaving makes it into kugurizashi (go through sashiko).
Days 7 -18
Rice Stitches
These 11 patterns combine Jujizashi (10 cross stitch) with diagonal stitches to give patterns named after the Japanese kanji for rice, because they look similar.

Days 19 - 24
Simple Grids
Six patterns that form the bace of many different patterns.
Days 25 - 30
Large Grids
Six more simple patterns good for large pieces and easy to mark.

Days 31 - 53
Circles and Layered Circles
Layered circles are used to make many sashiko patterns. Changing the size of the circles can also cause many variations on the traditional designs.
Days 54 -59
